Infinity SDC Opens New Slough Data Centre

Specialist data centre operator Infinity SDC officially opens Infinity Slough today, its new data centre facility in the heart of the UK’s IT corridor. The Thames Valley is home to one of the highest concentration of IT and computing companies in Europe, and Slough is a key communications hub connecting the M4 corridor with the rest of the world.

Infinity’s latest data centre has been delivered in conjunction with real estate investment trust SEGRO and offers customers a range of dedicated, shared and modular colocation solutions. The facility is Infinity’s first purpose-built data centre and provides 92,000 sq ft of technical space, supported by 34MVA of power.

The Infinity Slough data centre draws on all of Infinity’s previous experience and features state of the art facilities enabling Infinity to provide a full spectrum of services from 250kW data halls with shared plant, to fully bespoke, client dedicated data centres and associated auxiliary space. Its modern design includes a single arch barrel roof, a glass atrium and premium boardroom facilities.

It provides connectivity options to multiple ISPs and a large choice of telecommunications carriers including BT, Virgin Media, Colt, Zayo, Level 3, Easynet and Geo Networks.

UK companies increasingly rely on digital technology for their core operations, and increased data use relies on resilient and efficient data centre solutions. Infinity Slough will support critical business operations, helping to boost economic growth and facilitating the continued expansion of the flourishing digital and ICT sectors (the fastest growing sectors of the UK economy).

Commenting, Stuart Sutton, CEO at Infinity SDC, said:

“We are delighted that our new facility in Slough is complete and ready for clients to use. This site offers customers a whole range of dedicated, shared and modular co-location solutions to meet their exacting needs in a low risk area with low fibre latency to London.”

“Infinity Slough will provide much needed data centre capacity in the Thames Valley area, home to many of Europe’s leading IT and computing companies and a hub of national significance. The area already has an extremely high concentration of communications companies, and it will become increasingly significant in the future due to initiatives such as Crossrail. Infinity Slough is a fantastic addition to our portfolio of data centres in and around London, further strengthening and extending our offer to clients.”

David Sleath, Chief Executive Officer at SEGRO, said:

“We have developed a strong understanding of data centre requirements over the last decade, and we are delighted to have designed and built this new highly specified facility in partnership with Infinity. The locational benefits of Slough, with its proximity to London, connectivity, dual power supply and high levels of security, will give Infinity a competitive edge. service for some of the world’s leading companies.”
