JT_100_FDS_John Thompson in prestigious list of Top 20 Hottest FDs

John Thompson, financial director at Infinity SDC, has been recognised as one of the top 20 financial directors in the TMT sector, after steering Infinity through a successful year which saw the company secure significant new funding and a maiden profit of £4.8 million.

John’s success was celebrated at last night’s Hot 20 FDs in TMT awards ceremony, hosted by accountants and business advisers BDO LLP. Selected by a panel of judges including industry leaders from TMT and financial services firms, as well as experts from the media, John’s award reflects his professional achievements in the last 12 months and his pivotal role at Infinity.

Under John’s management, Infinity has increased its revenues five times over the last twelve months. John has played an essential role in negotiating strategically important contracts, including a £100m+ deal with a major bank and a long-term deal with Cable & Wireless. He also oversaw the bid that successfully secured the contract to develop Infinity Stratford, one of the most efficient data centres in Europe that will be located at iCITY on the Olympic Park.

In the year to 31st March 2013, John helped steer Infinity to trading profits of £4.8 million. During this period the company increased revenue to £16.6 million, up from £3.6 million in the previous financial year.

The company has expanded its operations and has achieved notable recent successes, including:

> A £48m equity funding round in September 2013 to fund the complete fit out of Slough and the remaining space at its data centres at Stockley Park and Romford

> Securing two major new US investors

> Completing Infinity’s joint venture with Delancey to develop a world-leading digital cluster on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

> The handover of its newest facility in Slough from SEGRO and the first fit out phase of this facility

Commenting, John Thompson, Financial Director at Infinity SDC said:

“I am delighted to accept this award after a particularly exciting year at Infinity. We recently launched a whole range of new products to transform the way customers purchase data centres, and the company is a in a strong position to continue its impressive growth over the coming years.”
