Fibre dig to site at Infinity TWO
A major Telecommunications provider has commenced their dig from the A12 to the Infinity TWO site in Romford in the first phase of extending their fibre network to support the data centre site and its customers. The fibre crossings across the A12 are now complete allowing the fibre digs to the site's 2 diverse entry points. This work will be completed before Christmas. The establishment of a global carrier with a presence on-site is a significant step in establishing Infinity TWO as a major site serving both Docklands and The City. Coupled with an unparalleled amount of power and delivering a low carbon footprint in an urban environment, it is a unique proposition.

Infinity dark green energy data centre takes a step closer
The UK’s first operational data centre to be powered entirely using on-site green energy has taken a step closer to completion with the commencement of installation of
anaerobic digester plant and biomass generators at the Infinity ONE campus in East Anglia. The dark green energy produced will be delivered directly to client data halls.
Martin Lynch, CEO, Infinity SDC said; “the introduction of the Energy Act 2008 and its anticipated effect upon businesses is forcing innovation in the way data centres are operated. The ability to
provide assured IT services with little or no carbon emission is becoming increasingly important to companies with large energy usage who will be affected by the Cap and Trade scheme which the
Government is introducing. Today, the use of Green energy is not just a matter of conscience but a pragmatic financial and tax decision for CFOs.”

Major milestone at Infinity TWO as Transformers are positioned for installation
A major milestone in the development of Infinity TWO was reached on the 18th of November 2009 with the delivery of the transformers for the on-site primary substation.

The transformers (type 20/40MVA 33/11kV) have been positioned in the Scottish Southern Energy (SSE) Primary Substation that will power an initial 25MVA feed to the multi-tenanted data centre. Enabled for an eventual 38MVA of power, this brings a unique level of power capacity to Infinity TWO, making it probably the last development of this scale to occur within the M25 and the Greater London Area.
