2014 Global Data Centre Market Report

Posted by on February 4, 2014

Back in November, DLA Piper invited people from across the industry (including data centre customers, co-location providers, developers and owners plus a range of others), to take part in a Tech Law panel. The theme of the panel was to explore the post-recession opportunities presented by the technology sector, a sector where real growth is possible. The Tech Law panel looked at the shifting landscapes and the changing legal framework which surrounds them. Infinity was delighted to have taken part with Andrew Roughan, now its Products and Marketing Director, as a panellist.

Following on from that event, DLA Piper has created and recently published its inaugural report highlighting the current key trends and themes in the global data centre industry. The report entitled ” 2014 Global Data Centre Market Report” provides an outlook for the data centre market in 2014. Quoting from Andrew, the report states:

“This macro trends for data centre growth are compelling but the market must now be seen as a component of an IT solution, rather than the property where the IT solution resides. Influences such as virtualisation and Cloud mean end users can get more IT out of less physical data centres.”

Andrew was highlighting Infinity’s viewpoint as encapsulated in our new customer propositions, Agile, Burst and Dynamic. Under the product banner “Infinite Data Centre”, these ground breaking propositions offer customers new ways to consume data centre services and provide the flexibility and agility to allow the data centre to truly behave like a part of the IT stack.
